Program Synopsis
April 3-5, 2025
Spark: A Theological Convocation will provide an arena to reflect on Unitarian Universalist theology in a setting separate from denominational business or governance discussions. The goal is for Unitarian Universalist ordained and lay leaders to think about our shared clarity around mission and theology now and for the next part of the 21st Century. Spark organizers hope participants will take these conversations home to their local congregations or regions, where the questions can take on further life - ultimately for perennial and sustained theological conversations across Unitarian Universalism that provide opportunities for covenantal understanding of mission and imagination.
Through a combination of keynote speeches and interactive panels and conversations, religious professionals and lay leaders will come together and help shape our shared theology in this critical moment. The growing list of worship leaders, speakers, and panelists includes:
Rev. Dr. Sofía Betancourt, President, Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA)
